PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which is in good absorption performance even if it is designed to be small in contained amount of a water absorptive polymer.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 4 includes an absorptive core 40 which includes absorbent material, and a core wrap sheet 5A which covers at least a liquid receiving surface 40a of the absorptive core 40. A linear concave part 41 is formed by stretching in two or more directions on the one surface 40a of the absorptive core 40. The absorptive core 40 is compartmentalized in two or more domains by the concave part 41 to form two or more small absorption parts 43. The small absorption parts 43 have a high basis weight compared with a bottom part 42 of the concave part 41. In the core wrap sheet 5A, the basis weight is 8-20 g/m, the density is 0.03-0.2 g/cm, and the drying tensile strength of a manufacturing conveyance direction is 600 cN/25 mm or more.
