To provide a dehydrating apparatus having high reinforcing function of a rotary drum, and enabling a user to smoothly perform taking-out work of laver and/or laver nets from the rotary drum.
SOLUTION: This dehydrating apparatus is such that a flange part 3 of a ring-shaped metallic material is externally inserted and fixed to a peripheral part of an upper opening ON an outer peripheral surface of a rotary drum 2, and the flange part 3 is formed with a first welding part 31 and a second welding part 32 by externally inserting, for instance, a ring-shaped member which has a belt-like shape when viewed in a plane and into the peripheral part of the rotary drum 2, and welding and fixing the upper and lower parts of the inner peripheral edge of the member to the outer peripheral surface of the rotary drum 2. As a result of this and the flange part 3 is projected in a posture parallel to the bottom of the rotary drum 2 to the outside of the rotary drum 2.
