The present invention provides a wheelchair with standing up assistance, which comprises a frame, a wheel unit, a seat unit, an elastic pushing unit and a brake device. The seat unit comprises a support rack mounted on the frame and capable of switching between a push-up position and a sit-down position. The elastic pushing unit is mounted between the support rack and the frame, so that the support rack may be always faced toward the push-up position. The brake device comprises a linking unit mounted on the frame two brake members respectively driven by the linking unit and being movable with respect to the wheel unit between a brake position and an unlocking position and two elastic members respectively mounted between the linking unit and the frame to keep the two brake members always facing toward the brake position. When the support rack passes a status switching position, it may be automatically braked or automatically unlocked.
