PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of dispensing an adhesive that reduces an amount of an adhesive used to form an elastic portion of a personal disposable hygiene product.SOLUTION: A method of dispensing an adhesive 30 onto a stretched elastic strand 28 includes applying a first volume of the adhesive 30 onto a first portion 32 of the elastic strand 28, applying a second volume of the adhesive 30 onto a second portion 34 of the elastic strand 28, and applying a third volume of the adhesive 30 onto a third portion 36 of the elastic strand 28. The second volume is less than the first and third volumes.
