The present invention relates to the use of a compound of formula (I) for use in the gynecological, anal and penile cancer, procarcinogenic and noncancerous photodynamic treatment (PDT), preferably endometrial, cervical, Semi-solid pharmaceutical compositions and semi-solid pharmaceutical products for use in PDT of penile dysplasia and HPV infection of the uterus, cervix, vulva, vagina, anus and penis. The semi-solid composition and pharmaceutical product comprises an active ingredient which is a precursor or derivative of 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) or 5-ALA, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
