An electrosurgical cable that does not create an electromagnetic (EM) field around its vicinity (zero EM contamination). The cable is constructed by arranging an inner insulator in which the conductor is embedded in an outer insulator tube in which the second conductor is embedded. The size and material of the conductors and insulators are chosen such that the voltage applied to the inner conductor is higher than the breakdown voltage and the voltage applied to the gas gap in the electrosurgical cable is lower than the breakdown voltage.
