PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which can detect the position of a catheter accurately and quickly and grasp the position, the orientation, and the proceeding direction of the whole of the catheter. SOLUTION: This is a magnetic resonance imaging device for interventional MRI imaging, which requires operation of a catheter 17 inserted into a subject body P. The imaging device is equipped with means 1, 3, 8, 8T, 18, 8R to detect the tip end position of the catheter 17, means 5, 10, 20 to prepare movement locus data of the catheter 17 from detected data of the tip end position, and means 10, 6, 12 to display the prepared movement locus, Additionally, the device is constituted so that the imaged section makes automatically track the movement of the device even when an operator changes the advancing direction of a device such as a puncture needle etc. An accurate preliminary scheduling means is also provided.
