A mucosubmucous flap is cut out on the hard palate, thereby exposing the bone. The hard palate is incised along the median line. The maxillary tuberosity is dissected away from the pterygoid process of the sphenoid bone. A facial skull tissue graft is elevated keeping the muscles attached to the bony skeleton.
