There is provided a fit testing method comprising: providing a respirator donned by a wearer； providing a first sensor, where the sensor is configured to monitor a particulate concentration parameter within the respirator, where the first sensor is attached to the respirator such that the weight of the first sensor is supported by the respirator； providing a second sensor configured to monitor a particulate concentration parameter outside the respirator； and providing a reader configured to communicate with the sensor, where the reader is configured to provide a respirator fit parameter based on a comparison of the particulate concentration parameter within the respirator to the particulate concentration parameter outside the respirator.L'invention concerne un procédé d'essai de réglage consistant à prendre un respirateur porté par un utilisateur, à prendre un générateur d'aérosol comportant un paramètre de sortie d'aérosol connu, à prendre une enceinte qui est physiquement maintenue autour de la tête de l'utilisateur, le générateur d'aérosol distribuant un aérosol présentant le paramètre de sortie d'aérosol connu qui est au moins partiellement contenu dans l'enceinte autour de la tête de l'utilisateur, à prendre un capteur en communication électrique avec un élément de détection, le capteur étant connecté fonctionnellement au respirateur, et le capteur étant configuré pour surveiller un paramètre de concentration particulaire à l'intérieur du respirateur, et à prendre un lecteur configuré pour communiquer avec le capteur, le lecteur étant configuré pour fournir un paramètre de réglage de respirateur sur la base d'une comparaison entre le paramètre de concentration particulaire et le paramètre de sortie d'aérosol connu.
