An embodiment in accordance with the present invention provides an apparatus and method for injecting a lens into a flap or pocket in the cornea. This lens or pocket preferably is created by a laser used in conventional lasik surgery. The apparatus includes a syringe or handle, a plunger extending movably through the lumen of the syringe, and a paddle. The paddle extends from the distal end of the syringe and is configured to hold the lens to be injected into the eye.
