The present invention relates to the use of an aqueous solution of edarabon for use in the treatment of oxidative stress-mediated neurodegenerative diseases in a human patient, wherein the treatment comprises at least 10 days of uninterrupted period of time in the human patient. Oral administration once daily to provide a daily dose of 40-120 mg of edarabon.
