PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aqueous compositions used when producing a capsule shell and capsule with functional polymer dispersions.SOLUTION: Provided is an aqueous composition for the manufacture of capsule shells comprising: an aqueous dispersion of a functional polymer in which the polymer is present in an amount ranging from about 5% to about 50% by weight of the total weight of the aqueous composition； at least one processing aid present in an amount ranging from about 0.5% to about 20% by weight of the total weight of the aqueous composition； and water, the at least one processing aid being a plasticizer of about 6 to about 20 mass% of the total mass of the aqueous composition. Furthermore, the at least one processing aid is about 0.1 to about 10 mass%, preferably about 0.5 to about 10 mass% of a coagulant aid based on the total mass of the aqueous composition.
