PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely conduct gait training.SOLUTION: A gait training system 1 includes: a mobile robot 11 a slider 14 a relief belt 12 connected to the slider 14 and an occupant of the mobile robot 11 a position detecting part 15 detecting a position of the slider 14 a drive part 13 generating a load on the slider 14 and a control calculation part 16 controlling the load generated by the drive part 13. The control calculation part 16 controls movement of the drive part 13 as follows: when determining that the robot is in a running condition, a load applied on the slider 14 is made low if the slider 14 is located in a training area, and is made high if the slider is located outside the training area when determining that someone gets in or out of the robot, a load applied on the slider 14 at a region adjacent to a reference position is made low, and a load applied on the slider at a region other than the adjacent region, is made high, while making a position where the occupant starts getting in or out of the robot, be a reference position and when determining that the mobile robot overturns, a load applied on the slider 14 is made high.
