Disclosed is a medicinal agent which is effective and highly safe for the preventionor alleviation of peripheral nerve disorder that is developed as an adverse sideeffect occurring after the administration of an anti-cancer agent. Specificallydisclosed is a novel medical use application of an extract from an inflammatorytissue inoculated with a vaccinia virus. More specifically disclosed is a prophylacticor alleviating agent for peripheral nerve disorder, which comprises the extractas an active ingredient. The agent comprising the extract as an active ingredientproduces fewer adverse side effects and is highly safe, and is therefore highlyuseful as a prophylactic or alleviating agent for peripheral nerve disorderinduced by the administration of an anti-cancer agent.
