PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watering/water retention method for roof greening having low-cost maintenance and labor-saving management method in view of the problem that roof greening is performed as one part of urban greening aiming at reducing heat island phenomenon, but with respect to a conventional watering method, it costs running cost and management and maintenance fee and with respect to water retention, water storage time is short and it cause trouble to manage. SOLUTION: This watering/water retention method for roof greening comprises equally or unequally arranging materials to effectively drain rainwater, covering soil and draining only water through utilizing capillary phenomenon and function of siphon effect.
