PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a hand piece presently held by an operator by detecting how the hand piece is held.SOLUTION: Many pressure sensors or temperature sensors 21 are provided on a surface of a hand piece 20. When an operator holds the hand piece 20, how it is held is patterned in distribution by data block according to output signals from these sensors. First, the patterns are stored in a database 11 as reference distribution patterns by varying the ways of holding the hand piece. For treatment thereafter, a verification/comparison part 13 compares the distribution pattern exhibited when the operator holds the hand piece with the reference distribution pattern.
