PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition, a method, an apparatus and a kit relating to the infusion of a catheter lock solution into an indwelling catheter, with which the effects of microbial infection in catheters and occlusion of the catheters are diminished and the solution preferably has a density suitable for retention of the solution in a catheter during the lock period.SOLUTION: The catheter lock solution comprises a citrate, a paraben and a photo-oxidant such as methylene blue.
