To provide a cerebral sulcus position-identifying method, an image processor and a medical image diagnostic apparatus and for clarifying images captured by an X-ray CT apparatus by a simple operation and accurately extracting and identifying the position of a specified cerebral sulcus.

SOLUTION: The cerebral sulcus position identifying method includes: a step of preparing three-dimensional brain volume data using CT images acquired by imaging the head of a subject a step of preparing X-ray absorption amount data indicating the X-ray absorption amount of the brain surface part of the subject ON the basis of brain volume data a step of preparing brain surface position data indicating the position of the brain surface of the subject ON the basis of the brain volume data a step of searching the position of the cerebral sulcus using the X-ray absorption amount data and the brain surface position data and a step of positioning the searched position of the cerebral sulcus ON the brain surface of the subject and preparing a cerebral sulcus area map.
