The present invention relates to delayed-release methylphenidate tablets characterized in that they are provided with a release-controlling layer comprising a combination of an enteric polymer and a hydrophobic agent. These tablets have a release profile characterized in that the drug does not substantially start to release until approximately three hours after administration, completing it after approximately four hours after administration. This profile allows for the preparation of a modified-release dosage form of methylphenidate, combining the delayed-release tablet with an additional fraction of immediate-release methylphenidate. The dosage form thus obtained is suitable for treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).La présente invention concerne des comprimés de méthylphénidate à libération retardée caractérisés en ce qu'ils sont pourvus d'une couche de contrôle de libération comprenant une combinaison d'un polymère entérique et d'un agent hydrophobe. Ces comprimés présentent un profil de libération caractérisé en ce que la libération du médicament ne commence pas sensiblement avant environ trois heures après l'administration, celle-ci se terminant après environ quatre heures après l'administration. Ce profil permet la préparation d'une forme pharmaceutique de méthylphénidate à libération modifiée, combinant le comprimé à libération retardée avec une fraction supplémentaire de méthylphénidate à libération immédiate. La forme pharmaceutique obtenue ainsi est adaptée pour traiter un trouble de déficit de l'attention avec hyperactivité (TDAH).
