PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To observe an object of observation in two or more kinds of observation images in a display form which ensures visibility.
SOLUTION: A switch detecting circuit 70 detects the switch operation of change-over switches 17, 18, and transmits a detection signal to an image processing circuit 64. The image processing circuit 64 performs the processing for switching the display form of synthetic image composed of an observation image and character information in a monitor 6 based upon the detection signal.
