PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting eye feature are provided to accurately detect eye feature based on a pupil center and an iris radius detected from eye area. CONSTITUTION: An input image receiving part(110) receives an input image. An eye area detecting part(120) detects eye area from the input image. A pupil center and iris radius detecting part(130) detects a pupil center and an iris radius from the detected eye area. A first threshold setting and spare blob extracting part(140) extracts a first spare blob from the detected eye area. A second threshold setting and spare blob extracting part(150) extracts a second spare blob by analyzing size information about the detected first spare blob.본 발명은 다양한 환경조건에서 눈 특징점을 검출하는 눈 특징점 검출장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 입력 영상을 수신하는 입력 영상 수신부, 상기 수신된 입력 영상으로부터 눈 영역을 검출하는 눈 영역 검출부, 상기 검출된 눈 영역으로부터 동공중심점 및 홍채 반경을 검출하는 동공중심점/홍채 반경 검출부, 및 상기 검출된 동공중심점 및 홍채 반경에 기초하여 눈 특징점을 검출하는 특징점 검출부를 포함할 수 있다.
