PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting hyperplasia of goblet cells, which is effective for prophylaxis or treatment of bronchitis, COPD, bronchiectasis, bronchial asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumoconiosis, emphysema, or diffuse panbronchiolitis.SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting hyperplasia of goblet cells includes fudosteine, being (-)-(R)-2-amino-3-(3-hydroxypropylthio)propionic acid, and bromhexine hydrochloride of an expectorant. The expectorant does not have goblet cell hyperplasia inhibiting action as the single agent.
