The present invention relates to storage apparatus (10, 60, 80) for storing live aquatic animals. The storage apparatus (10, 60, 80) comprises a container (14, 100) configured to hold at least one live aquatic animal. The storage apparatus (10, 60, 80) also comprises an aerosol generator (62) configured to receive water and to generate an aerosol comprising liquid water droplets suspended in air, the aerosol comprising water droplets of a diameter of no more than 30 microns. The storage apparatus (10, 60, 80) is configured to convey the aerosol to inside the container (14, 100). The present invention further relates to a vehicle comprising such a storage apparatus (10, 60, 80). The present invention further relates to a method of storing live aquatic animals comprising holding such an animal in a container (14, 100), generating an aerosol comprising water droplets of a diameter of no more than 30 microns, and conveying the aerosol to inside the container.
