The present invention relates to a pellet type composition for promoting the growth of livestock and a method for manufacturing the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pellet type composition containing melengestrol as a main ingredient for promoting the growth of livestock and a method for manufacturing the composition comprising: a step for dissolving the melengestrol, a main ingredient, in ethanol and then mixing with substandard powder； a step for preparing a premix by mixing the main ingredient with subsidiary ingredients, diluting agents, and a water soluble material； a step for making the original subsidiary ingredient into a pellet by shaping and then cutting into pieces of a fixed size； and a step for drying and passing through a magnetic iron separator, then packing the pieces of pellet.
