PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neprilysin inhibitor.SOLUTION: In an aspect, the invention relates to a compound having the following formula (I), where Rto R, a, b and X are as defined in the application, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. These compounds have a neprilysin inhibition activity. In other aspect the invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing these compounds, method for using these compound and a process and an intermediate for manufacturing these compounds.
