A surgical tool apparatus is disclosed and includes, an end effector, acontrol link having adistal end coupled to the end effector, and a conduit having a distal endcoupled to the endeffector. The apparatus also includes a tool positioner having a centralopening, thecontrol link extending through the conduit and operable to actuate at least afirstmovement of the end effector. The conduit is configured to be received in thecentralopening of the tool positioner and being operable to actuate a second movementof theend effector. The tool positioner is operable to move to position the endeffector during asurgical operations.
