To improve maintenance ability and operability of a rear cover-regulating device.
SOLUTION: The rotary tiller 1 equipped with a rear cover 8 connected to the rear terminal part of a main cover 7 and covering the rear part of a rotary tilling part 6, and a hanging rod 9 installed between the rear cover 8 and the main cover 7 is further equipped with a rear cover-regulating means 14 capable of switching a free state allowing the upper and lower turning of the rear cover 8, a locked state for restricting the upper and lower turning of the rear cover 8, and a lowering-restricting state for restricting the turning in the lowering direction while allowing the turning in the lifting direction of the rear cover 8, and an operation means 15 for carrying out the switching operation of the rear cover-regulating means 14 to each state. The operation means 15 enables the operation of the rear cover-regulating means 14 without using a wire and when the weight of the rear cover 8 acts ON a LOCK pin 16, only the position of an operation pin 18 can be subjected to changing operation while keeping the position of the LOCK pin 16.
