A device (4010) for inserting the needles of a microneedle patch into skin has a housing (4011). The housing (4011) has: a support section (4014) which supports the microneedle patch (4001) a pressure receiving section (4012) to which the user applies force in order to press the microneedle patch (4001) against the skin and a plurality of leg sections (4013) which each have a connection section (4016) at one end thereof the connection section (4016) being connected to the pressure receiving section (4012) and which each have a front end section (4013d) at the other end thereof the front end section (4013d) coming into contact with the skin. The housing is designed so that when force is applied to the pressure receiving section (4012) the housing is deformed to apply tension (4202) to a skin portion (4201) facing the support section (4014).
