Provided are biodegradable drug delivery compositions. The compositions contain a triblock copolymer comprising a polyester and polyethylene glycol (PEG), a diblock copolymer comprising a polyester and an end-capped polyethylene glycol and an active pharmaceutical. Further provided are methods for preparing the compositions. Exemplified active pharmaceuticals include peptide M53, paracetamol (acetaminophen), buprenorphine, risperidone and ivermectin.
