Disclosed embodiments relate to apparatuses and methods for wound treatment.In certain embodiments, a negativepressure wound therapy apparatus can include a wound dressing with a spacerlayer separated from the absorbent layer by intermediatelayers or drapes. The wound dressing can include a first portion comprising awound contact or tissue contact layer, a first spacerlayer, and a first backing layer comprising a first aperture. The spacer layercan be positioned between the contact layer and the firstbacking layer. The dressing can have a second portion comprising anintermediate drape with a second aperture, an absorbent layer,and a second backing layer. The absorbent layer is positioned between theintermediate drape and the second backing layer. The firstaperture and the second aperture are configured to be sealed and allow fluidcommunication between the first portion and the secondportion of the wound dressing.
