To provide a holding tool for an ultrasound probe and an ultrasound probe which are usable in both of a procedure which the operator performs by direct holding and a procedure which the operator performs by holding via a clamp, and which does not give the operator inconvenience that may be felt if a sheath is used.SOLUTION: A holding tool for an ultrasound probe according to the embodiment is mounted to an ultrasound probe which comprises: an ultrasound transducer for transmitting and receiving an ultrasound wave； and a to-be-held portion provided on a surface opposite an ultrasound wave projection surface on which the ultrasound transducer is provided, the to-be-held portion being held by a clamp. The holding tool is also a first attachment which includes a bottom surface, a flat surface, and a housing portion. The bottom surface is in contact with a surface opposite the ultrasound probe. The flat surface is an opposite surface of the bottom surface and held by the operator. The housing portion houses the to-be-held portion between the bottom surface and the flat surface.
