The present invention relates to a method for removing smell of artificial leather and artificial leather manufactured by the same. According to the method, volatile organic compounds and smell resulted from the same are removed by: applying an absorbent on a sheet of artificial leather； making the absorbent react to harmful substances including the volatile organic compounds (VOCs)； immersing the sheet of artificial leather； washing the sheet of artificial leather； and then drying the sheet of artificial leather. According to the present invention, by the method, the VOCs are prevented from volatilizing； or the volatilization amount of the VOCs are reduced by fixating the VOCs through the absorbent application process and the absorbent reaction process. Moreover, the sheet of artificial leather is washed after the absorbent reacts to the sheet of artificial leather. Therefore, the VOCs can be substantially removed from the sheet of artificial leather； and the amount of the VOCs contained in a finished product can be significantly reduced.본 발명은 인조가죽 원단에 흡착제를 도포하여 휘발성 유기화합물(VOC)를 포함하는 유해 물질과 반응시키고, 반응을 거친 인조가죽 원단을 침지 후 수세 및 건조 처리함으로써, 인조가죽에 함유되어 있는 휘발성 유기화합물 및 그에 기인한 냄새를 제거하기 위한 방법 및 이에 의해 제조된 인조가죽에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 인조가죽의 냄새 제거 방법은 흡착제 도포와 반응 공정에 의한 휘발성 유기화합물의 고정을 통한 휘발 방지 또는 휘발량 저감이 가능하게 된다. 또한 인조가죽 원단과 흡착제가 반응한 후 인조가죽 원단을 수세 처리하여, 원단 표면에 고정되어 있는 휘발성 유기화합물을 인조가죽으로부터 실질적으로 제거하는 것이 가능하여, 완성품에 함유된 휘발성 유기화합물의 양을 획기적으로 줄일 수 있다.
