There is provided a device for rendering haptic feedback to a user and method for operating the device to render the haptic feedback to the user of the device. The device comprises a first part operable to apply a non-invasive action on a part of the body of the user and a second part operable to be held by the user and to render haptic feedback to the user. At least one sensor signal indicative of an interaction between the first part of the device and the 5 part of the body of the user is acquired (402). The acquired at least one sensor signal is processed to determine haptic feedback representative of the interaction between the first part of the device and the part of the body of the user (404). The determined haptic feedback is rendered to the user at the second part of the device (406).L'invention porte sur un dispositif pour restituer une rétroaction haptique à un utilisateur et sur un procédé pour faire fonctionner le dispositif pour restituer la rétroaction haptique à l'utilisateur du dispositif. Le dispositif comprend une première partie actionnable pour appliquer une action non invasive sur une partie du corps de l'utilisateur et une seconde partie actionnable pour être tenue par l'utilisateur et pour restituer une rétroaction haptique à l'utilisateur. Au moins un signal de capteur indiquant une interaction entre la première partie du dispositif et la partie 5 du corps de l'utilisateur est acquis (402).
