The invention provides, among other things, methods and compositions for the treatment of muscular dystrophy, particularly Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). In some embodiments, the method according to the invention comprises the use of a recombinant follistatin fusion protein to reduce the intensity, severity, or frequency of at least one symptom or characteristic of DMD, or delay its onset.
