PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for treatment of a tumor, which is different from radiotherapy having action of causing damage on DNA and from most cancer-chemotherapy agents currently used, and uses a hedgehog/smoothened signal transmission path in order to inhibit tumor cell apoptosis while maintaining a normal tissue cell comprising a normal basal epidermal layer and an undifferentiated cell of hair follicle.SOLUTION: In topical treatment of a basal cell cancer (BCC), a cyclopamine as a steroid alkaloid of the formula or a medically acceptable cyclopamine salt are used.
