PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radially sliding seal assembly which applies a pretension to a sealing surface with a uniform pretension force.SOLUTION: A measuring device includes equipment provided with a cylinder and a piston rod 128 and a sub-assembly 146 sealing a gap between a wall of the cylinder and a wall of the rod 128. The assembly includes a sealing element 112 and a pretension element 114. The former element includes a sealing section 112 a sealing surface 118 formed thereon for sealing and axially sliding contact with a working surface 144 a pretension surface 120 facing a second radial direction, which is formed thereon for engagement with the element 114 for pretension force transmission.
