The present invention relates to a palm side cover detachably mounted on a reel body of a bait cast reel for controlling braking force of a spool when casting. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the palm side cover of a bait cast reel comprises: a side cover applied to a bait cast reel, in which a spool having a fishing line wound up therearound is rotatably installed inside a reel body, and mounted on an opening at one side of a reel body； a spool cover mounted on the side cover to rotatably support a shaft of the spool, and including a braking magnet； a lock dial having a handle inserted into a through-hole formed in the center of the side cover to protrude in order to close or open the side cover mounted on the reel body； and a control dial supported by the through-hole to be coaxial to the lock dial, operated independently of the lock dial to rotate, and transferring the braking magnet along the shaft of the spool when rotating an adjustment knob at any angle along the circumference to control braking force of the spool by magnetic force created between a flange of the spool and the braking magnet.
