Self-restoring articles such as self-restoring capsules for administration to a subject are generally provided. In some embodiments, the self-restoring article may be configured such that the article can be oriented with respect to a surface (eg, the surface of tissue of interest). The self-restoring articles described herein are configured to engage a surface (eg, a surface of a tissue of interest) (eg, join with, infuse, anchor to a surface) 1. One or more tissue engaging surfaces may be included. In some embodiments, the self-restoring article can have a particular shape and/or density (or mass) distribution that allows, for example, the self-restoring behavior of the article.
