An absorbent article (1) having a main body part (2) which extends in the length direction (L) and hip flap parts (5) each of which extends outward in the width direction (W) from the main body part (2) said absorbent article (1) being characterized in that each of the hip flap parts (5) includes a first sheet (12) having a skin contacting surface (11) and a second sheet (13) arranged on the clothing side relative to the first sheet (12) the first sheet (12) is a non woven fabric having an irregular surface structure including depressed parts (33) and projected parts (34) on the skin contacting surface (11) and has a compression workload of 0.3 gf·cm/cm or more as measured from the skin contacting surface (11) side and the second sheet (13) has a larger compression workload than that of the first sheet (12).
