1. A pneumococcal vaccine containing at least one conjugated pneumococcal capsular saccharide antigen and at least one Toll-like receptor-9 (TLR-9) agonist as adjuvant. The pneumococcal vaccine according to claim 1, wherein said at least one TLR-9 agonist contains or consists of a CpG oligonucleotide, preferably any CpG oligonucleotide disclosed herein. The pneumococcal vaccine according to claim 2, wherein said CpG oligonucleotide is an immunostimulatory CpG oligonucleotide of class A, B, C or P.4. The pneumococcal vaccine of claim 3, wherein said CpG oligonucleotide is a class B immunostimulatory CpG oligonucleotide, preferably any class B CpG oligonucleotide disclosed herein. The pneumococcal vaccine according to claim 4, wherein said CpG oligonucleotide has a nucleic acid sequence selected from the group consisting of: 5 'TCGTCGTTTTTCGGTGCTTTT 3' (SEQ ID NO: 3), 5 'TCGTCGTTTTTTCGGTCGTTT 3' (SEQ ID: 5 'TCGTCGTTTTGTCGTTTTGTCGTT 3' (SEQ ID NO: 5), 5 'TCGTCGTTTCGTCGTTTTTGTCGTT 3' (SEQ ID NO: 6) and 5 'TCGTCGTTTTGTCGTTTTTTTCGA 3' (SEQ ID NO: 7).
