A stripper plate system (100) is provided that includes a first stripper plate (104) movably mounted to a frame (102), a second stripper plate (106) movably mounted to the frame (102) in an opposing orientation to the first stripper plate (104), and an elongated gap (108) in-between the first and second stripper plates (104, 106). A first tensioning mechanism (144) biases a proximal end (110) of the first stripper plate (104) toward a center of the elongated gap (108), a second tensioning mechanism (146) biases a distal end (112) of the first stripper plate (104) toward the center of the elongated gap (108), a third tensioning mechanism (148) biases a proximal end (118) of the second stripper plate (106) toward the center of the elongated gap (108), and a fourth tensioning mechanism (150) biases a distal end (120) of the second stripper plate (106) toward the center of the elongated gap (108). A biasing force of the first and third tensioning mechanisms (144, 148) is lower than a biasing force of the second and fourth tensioning mechanisms (146, 150).
