PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective face HG for always clearly and visually observing a welding part, even when variation in intensities of the arc light is caused due to a factor which cannot be discriminated by a waveform of a welding current or welding voltage.SOLUTION: The protective face HG is mounted with a light shielding panel GP for protecting eyes of a welding operator from the arc light, and comprises: an illuminance sensor SD for measuring illuminance of the arc light passed through the light shielding panel GP and a transmissivity control part GC for controlling light transmissivity of the light shielding panel GP so that a measured value Sd of the illuminance becomes equal to a predetermined illuminance set value. Even when intensities of the arc light are varied by the factor that cannot discriminate the change by the waveform of the welding current or the welding voltage such as a welding attitude, a welding advance position and a distance up to the protection face from an arc generation part, since the illuminance after passing through the light shielding panel GP can be kept to a desired value, the welding part can be always clearly and visually observed.COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT【課題】溶接電流又は溶接電圧の波形によって判別することができない要因に基づくアーク光の強度の変動が生じても、溶接部を常に鮮明に目視することができる保護面HGを提供すること。【解決手段】アーク光から溶接作業者の目を保護する遮光パネルGPを装着した保護面HGにおいて、遮光パネルGPを透過したアーク光の照度を測定する照度センサSDと、この照度の測定値Sdが予め定めた照度設定値と等しくなるように前記遮光パネルGPの光透過率を制御する透過率制御部GCと、を備えている。溶接姿勢、溶接進行位置、アーク発生部から保護面までの距離等の溶接電流又は溶接電圧の波形によってその変化を判別することができない要因によってアーク光の強度が変動しても、遮光パネルGPを透過した後の照度を所望値に保つことができるので、溶接部を常に鮮明に目視することができる。【選択図】 図1
