The present invention relates to oil-in-water emulsions, their use asadjuvants, and pharmaceutical, immunologic, or vaccine compositions that maycomprise the same. In one embodiment, the oil-in-water (OAV) emulsion maycomprise an aqueous solution containing an immunogen, a mineral oil, a non-ionic lipophilic ethoxylated fatty alcohol and a non-ionic hydrophilicsurfactant. In another embodiment, the oil-in-water (OAV) emulsion maycomprise an aqueous solution containing an immunogen, a non-ionic lipophilicsurfactant, a mineral oil and a non-ionic hydrophilic ethoxylated fattyalcohol. The present invention also encompasses a method of making a vaccinecomposition using the adjuvant of the instant invention, the vaccinecomposition so obtained and methods of use.
