Provided are a thermotherapy device and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the thermotherapy device comprises: a heating ceramic module including a body, a first support plate positioned on an upper portion of the body, a second support plate positioned on an upper portion of the first support plate, an elevation driving unit coupled to a lower portion of the first support plate and moving the first support plate in a vertical direction with respect to the body, and a ceramic member coupled to the second support plate； a weight sensor disposed on a lower surface of the second support plate to sense a body pressure of a user； and a control unit for controlling setting and performance of a massage mode of the heating ceramic module, and controlling a driving height of the elevation driving unit in accordance with the body pressure of the user sensed by the weight sensor to provide the user with the same pressure by the ceramic member on the basis of a preset target strength.온열 치료기 및 그 제어 방법이 제공된다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 온열 치료기는 몸체, 몸체의 상부에 위치하는 제1지지 플레이트, 제1지지 플레이트의 상부에 위치하는 제2지지 플레이트, 제1지지 플레이트의 하부와 결합되며 몸체에 대하여 상하 방향으로 제1지지 플레이트를 이동시키는 승하강 구동부, 및 제2지지 플레이트에 결합되는 도자 부재를 포함하는 온열 도자 모듈； 제2지지 플레이트의 하면에 구비되어 사용자의 체압을 감지하는 중량 감지센서； 및 온열 도자 모듈의 마사지 모드의 설정 및 수행을 제어하되, 기설정된 목표 강도를 기초로 도자 부재에 의해 사용자에게 동일한 압력을 제공하도록 중량 감지센서에 의해 감지된 사용자의 체압에 따라 승하강 구동부의 구동높이를 제어하는 제어부；를 포함한다.
