A fluidic telescope includes a first lens configured to be arranged in the eye of a patient, and a second lens having a chamber with fluid disposed therein, the second lens being a variable focus fluidic lens capable of varying the shape thereof so as to selectively form an additive plus lens, an additive minus lens, and a Galilean telescope when positioned so as to be along the same optical axis as the first lens, wherein the second lens is configured to be capable of moving the focal point thereof forward or backward by increasing or decreasing the fluid in the chamber.
