PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for changing a meiotic recombination position by a simple process capable of being applied to various crops.SOLUTION: DNA methylation of a plant chromosome is artificially reduced to induce a meiotic recombination in or the vicinity of a centromere domain where the meiotic recombination is usually hardly caused. In addition, the method includes obtaining an individual whose chromatin-modified state in cell nuclei is changed and changing a meiotic recombination position of a plant.
