An agricultural implement, for use with a tractor having a hydraulic power lift mechanism or a hydraulic system including a source of fluid under pressure, comprises a frame having a ground engaging support and adapted for connection to the tractor, a soil-working device, and force transmitting means interconnecting the soil-working device and the frame and operable so as to move the soil-working device relative to the frame and adapted for connection with the mechanism or the system so that, in use, when the implement is connected to a tractor, raising of the mechanism or operation of the system so as to provide fluid under pressure effects lowering of the soil-working device into engagement with the soil. The implement is preferably a seed and /or fertilizer drill. As illustrated in Fig.l the force transmitting means comprises carrier bars 12 each associated with a soil-working device (although only one is shown), spring links 18, arms 16, 22, a chain 23, and a frame 24 which is attached to the lower lift links 25 of the tractor. The implement frame is attached to a draw bar 11. Each link 18 comprises a rod connected to a carrier bar, an upper collar connected to an arm 16, an adjustable nut 21, lock nuts 18x and a spring 20. In use raising of the lift links lowers the soil-working devices into engagement with the soil. When the links are lowered a tension spring 26 effects raising of the devices. A strut 30 may be engaged with teeth 31 to lock the arms 16, 22 in a particular position. In the alternative embodiment of Fig. 4, the force transmitting means is comprised by a conduit 35, a ram 34, arms 16A, links 18A and carrier bars 12A. When fluid under pressure is supplied to the ram 34 the soilworking devices are lowered. A strut 30A engages a latch 38 with the arms 16A, 22A in a predetermined position. The latch is released by fully extending the ram 34 thus causing the tension spring 38D to pivot over centre with respect to pivot 38A of the latch 38. A projection 29 engages and re-sets the latch when the ram is fully retracted. The implement may include a double acting ram in place of ram 34 and springs 26A. The tractor may include means for position control, or pressure control, and the tractor and implement may include means for draft control of the soil-working devices (Fig. 6. not shown)
