The present disclosure envisages a monitoring system for monitoring the state of drivers. The technical advancement is provides a system which monitors health status and fatigue level of the driver. The system comprising a camera (12) to capture a real time video of a driver™s face, a plurality of sensors (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 ,S6 and S7)to sense a plurality of health parameters, a feature extraction module (20) to extract facial features from the real time video, a fatigue analyzer (30) to compute a fatigue value based on the fatigue valuation rules, a comparator (40) to generate an alert signal if the health parameter value exceeds or falls behind a threshold health parameter range and/or the fatigue value exceeds a fatigue threshold value and an alert generation module (50) to generate an alert to the driver.
