Described is a method for increasing the drought tolerance of plants which are free of fungus or pest and which are in need of tolerance to drought, heat stress, aridity or lack of water, the method consisting of applying to said plants a non-phytotoxic, effective for enhancing the resistance of plants to drought, amount of a compound which is N-(5-chloro-2-isopropylbenzyl)-N-cyclopropyl-3-(difluoromethyl)-5-fluoro-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide (isoflucypram), or an agrochemically acceptable salt thereof.
