PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape measuring apparatus which has an optical fiber sensor capable of measuring many measurement spots with one optical fiber, and has attained diameter reduction of the sensor on the whole.
SOLUTION: The shape measuring apparatus includes: the optical fiber sensor 2 wherein a plurality of optical fiber Bragg grating sensor units 3 which reflect light of the same specific wavelength by reflectivities different respectively are formed a light source 6 for supplying wide-band light to the optical fiber sensor 2 a detection part 8 for detecting the wavelengths and intensities of the rays of reflected light from the optical fiber sensor 2 and a calculation part 9A for calculating the amounts of deformation of the sensor units 3 based on the detection results of the detection part 8, and calculating from the deformation amounts the shape of an insertion part 12 where the optical fiber sensor 2 is arranged.
